Well, after about a year of not being motivated enough to read, I stumbled upon Mistborn at the mall inside of a B. Dalton. I liked the cover so I proceeded to reading the back and that left me feeling interested enough to buy the book. I finished it a day after purchasing it, feeling how I did back when all that I did was read [ a.k.a like a druggy wanting a fix], and immediately searched every book store that I was familiar with in the city for The Well of Ascension. No one had it. I finally gave in a decided to order it, paying the extra bux to have it delivered to my house. That was anything but a waste. I'm really excited about having another Trilogy to read and I can't think of a better book to have started me up again. So. How did all of you stumble upon Brandon Sandersons' work? Just wondering, and admittingly trying to raise my post count. xD -- Nil

Let see, my twin served with him in Korea (as missionaries, not soldiers) and then worked with him on a certain university publication. I was then invited to join the publication as their art director and shortly there after I read some of Brandon's early works.

I worked on The Leading Edge shortly after he stopped being editor, and everyone would talk about him. Then I was in a writing group with him.

He was the mysterious guy who showed up to Leading Edge in sunglasses at 8:30 pm, talked with SE and Alan for a while, yelled at the slush puppies to get to work, then disappeared downstairs.

I read the announcement that he was going to write the 12th book of the Wheel of Time on Robert Jordan's blog at Dragonmount and came check it out.
Said I wasn't going to read any of his works until after the WoT book, but I read the first couple of chapters of Mistborn and now I need to go shopping for his books.

He came to my brother's wedding. But I'd heard a lot about him before that. (I was on the staff at TLE for just a semester, but I think I remember somebody talking about Brandon getting called to Seoul West--this would have been... umm... '96? Or maybe they were talking about somebody else.)

Saw his book at Media Play. I emailed him, and he actually emailed me back. Then I took the class that he teaches at BYU. Did that a couple years ago. Now, I've faded into the background of "people Brandon recognizes" when I'm around. Glad to at least be in that group.

It still surprises me that people can actually know authors. Lmao. A lot of your answers were really interesting! It's comforting to be around people with similar interests. =D

What I think everyone who's a regular on here, especially Sprig, isn't how you know Brandon. It's how much you love Sprig.
