In wild news from the heart of the beast, comes this little gem: WARNER BROS. TAPS JONAH HEX FOR FILM TREATMENT

Yes, that's right. The wild gun slinger from DC's vault is going to be made into a movie. I don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to more DC titles being picked for a film treatment. Of course, this doesn't mean it's going to be spectactular, but it does mean I should read up on the old man before I see this.

I remember seeing Hex in a few issues of Preacher, written by Garth Ennis, and enjoyed it. However, thinking about that makes me wonder if in my infancy of comics at that time if it was Jonah Hex or some other crazed gunslinger. Anybody got a better clue here?

There's no date yet, or actors selected, or really anything else aside from Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor who will be adapting Hex to the silver screen. Those were the guys behind the action pumped Crank. That movie wasn't half bad, and it kept things going quite well. So maybe we'll get something halfway decent here.
